Therefore, PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) gives priority to an environmental management system that includes management in responsible tin ore mining, processing and refining operations. PT Cipta Persada Mulia is committed to being a good corporate citizen by utilizing resources sustainably while preserving the ecosystem around its operations.
How we manage the environment
PT Cipta Persada Mulia's (CPM) commitment to the environment covers our entire business. At every step of our business, we prevent, minimize and manage our impact on the environment and strive to conserve natural resources through sustainable management. PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) starts this effort from the planning stage to mine closure.
PT Cipta Persada Mulia operates as a good and responsible company in environmental management, ensuring adherence to good environmental management practices by referring to ISO 14001, national standards, international standards, and following other applicable regulations.
The efforts and best practices of PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) include biodiversity management, abrasion control management, air quality management, wastewater quality management, and management of toxic hazardous waste and non-B3 waste.
Bio-Diversity
PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) as a form of commitment to environmental management carries out mine reclamation in accordance with the reclamation plan document, one of which is through the Biodiversity Program in the form of sinking artificial fish houses.
The sinking of this artificial fish house was carried out in the waters of Cibia, Pekajang Village, Lingga Regency which will be monitored for development around the location of the fish house and will become a sustainability program for marine resource enrichment.
This artificial fish house is designed as a shelter and breeding ground for fish, as well as acting as a medium for collecting marine biota to form natural coral reefs later.
For the implementation of this fish house sinking program, PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) involved the community of Pekajang Village, Lingga Regency and also fish house experts who provided explanations on how to make fish houses and supervision to the Pekajang Village community.
Determining the location of the house sinking itself must consider many factors of environmental conditions that allow organisms and support the growth of marine life and natural coral reefs by using seabed geological studies.
This program is expected to play a role in preserving the natural characteristics of the sea and fish breeding grounds and add economic value to the community.
The implementation of the sinking of the fish house is expected to have a positive impact on the environment and also have an impact on improving the economy of the surrounding community in particular.
Mangrove Planting
In order to ensure the compliance of mining companies, PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) has again carried out mine reclamation in accordance with the reclamation plan document, one of which is through the Abrasion Management program in the form of mangrove planting.
Mangrove planting is carried out around islands and coastlines that are directly affected by mining activities, which still cover the EIA study area. The reclaimed area is located on the island of cibia, Pekajang Village, Lingga Regency.
For the implementation of this Abrasion Control program, PT Cipta Persada Mulia involves the community of Pekajang Village, Lingga Regency and also a team of experts who provide technical explanations of mangrove planting and supervision to the Pekajang Village Community.
The type of mangrove planted is Rhizophora SP with the number of.... Stems. Where the location will be planted with Mangrove vegetation with a distance of 1 m x 1 m.
The seafront area is sought to be a top priority location for planting that has strong roots so that it is good for coastal / river abrasion resistance and as a green belt.
The implementation of mangrove planting is expected to have a positive impact on the environment and also have an impact on improving the economy of the surrounding community in particular.
Development around the coast will be a sustainable program for the protection and growth of aquatic life such as fish and shrimp.
LIQUID WASTE
How We Manage Water
PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) meets the need for clean water for domestic and operational activities from BP Batam SPAM and rainwater collection ponds. Operational water is used for road watering, plant watering and vehicle cleaning.
PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) also uses wastewater from production activities (tin sand washing) and domestic activities. The wastewater is treated into a different Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the results of the treatment are collected into a watertight storage pond which is then reused. Production wastewater is reused for tin sand washing, while domestic wastewater is reused to supply smelting cooling media. Waste water utilization is carried out with a full recycle system / close system.
How We Manage Waste
PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) manage waste to strict standards to ensure environmental protection. The Company continuously strives to reduce the volume of waste disposal by applying the principles of reuse, reduction of use, and recycling.
Waste management is carried out in accordance with the type and characteristics of the waste. PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) manages non-B3 solid waste and toxic and hazardous waste (B3) in compliance with all applicable regulations. Non-hazardous solid waste in the form of organic waste is used as compost in accordance with the 3R principles (reuse, reduce waste volume, and recycle), while plastic, paper and other domestic waste are handed over to third parties and local government temporary shelters (TPS). Hazardous solid waste is accommodated in TPS owned by the company to be handed over and managed by third parties with hazardous waste management licenses.
How We Manage Air Quality
Air is a substance that exists in an environment/space called ambient. Air can be a medium for spreading emissions produced by immobile sources (industry, WWTP, room, domestic, daily activities in certain locations) and mobile sources (vehicles, living things). Air can also experience disturbances in the form of odors, noise, and vibration.
PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) manages air quality by conducting regular maintenance of factory machinery, using fuel efficiently so as to reduce exhaust emissions in the air, using operational vehicles that meet emission quality standards and planting trees in the area around the factory that can function as protective trees as well as dust filters and noise absorbers.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs play an important role in maintaining the sustainability of the company's business. Therefore, PT CPM has a long-term commitment to implement CSR programs as part of the company's responsibility to society and the environment. This commitment has been carried out consistently by PT CPM by providing a special budget for CSR every year and implementing CSR programs systematically and sustainably.
